Jewellery Making Courses in Charlestown, Cornwall
I’m so happy to welcome you to my coastal jewellery studio in Charlestown, St Austell — a calm, creative space where you can slow down, make something beautiful and learn at your own pace.
I teach in small groups, using traditional silversmithing methods and a relaxed, encouraging style that adapts to how you learn best. Whether you’re picking up tools for the first time or developing more complex projects, I’ll guide you clearly and steadily until it all clicks.
All courses are beginner friendly and there’s always room to deepen your skills.
My Courses
Learn silversmithing in a calm, supportive studio just moments from Charlestown harbour.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, there’s a course here for you.
Not sure where to start?
If you’re new, start with the 5-week silversmithing course.
If you want to learn quickly, choose summer school.
If you’ve done some before, try Lost Wax or Mitsuro Hikime.
5 Week Silversmithing
A structured course covering core silversmithing techniques — sawing, soldering, forming and finishing — with space for beginners and more experienced makers to work at their own level.

Summer School
5 full days. 30 hours of making.
The fastest way to properly learn silversmithing.
They’re ideal if you’d like a focused creative week or a jewellery-making holiday in Cornwall.

Lost Wax Jewellery Course
Wax Modelling & Casting in Cornwall
Explore additive and subtractive wax techniques to design and create your own jewellery, which will then be professionally cast in the metal of your choice — including sterling silver or other precious metals.
This course introduces traditional lost wax casting methods and is ideal if you’d like to expand your design possibilities beyond working directly in sheet and wire.

Mitsuro Hikime Jewellery Course
Learn the traditional Japanese Mitsuro Hikime wax technique and create beautifully textured jewellery that is professionally cast in the metal of your choice.
Working with warmed wax, you’ll stretch and form organic shapes before refining and finishing your piece in metal.
Ideal for beginners and experienced makers who are curious about texture, surface and sculptural form.

Guided Bench Sessions
Supported Jewellery Studio Time in Cornwall
Focused bench time for anyone who would like to work independently, with experienced technical guidance nearby when you need it.
Ideal if you’ve completed a course — with me or elsewhere — and would value access to a calm, well-equipped studio while developing your own projects.

A Calm, Inclusive Studio
I know that everyone learns differently. Some people prefer to see something demonstrated slowly. Some like written notes. Some need repetition. Some like to work quietly and concentrate. That’s all welcome here.
My aim is for you to leave feeling capable and confident — not rushed.
