Over 5 days, you’ll spend focused time at the bench, building real skills, gaining confidence and creating your own jewellery in a calm, supportive studio environment.
This is not a quick experience — it’s a proper learning week.

Jewellery Making Summer School – Beginners
Monday 27th – Friday 31st July 2026
🕙 10 AM – 4.30 PM daily
📍 Charlestown, Cornwall
This course is for you if:
- You’ve never made jewellery before
- You’ve tried a short class and want more confidence
- You want to understand why things work, not just copy steps
We’ll cover:
- Sawing, filing and forming
- Soldering with confidence
- Textures and surface finishes
- Basic stone setting
- Designing simple, wearable pieces
You’ll leave with:
- Several finished silver pieces
- A clear understanding of the basics
- The confidence to keep making
Bonus for summer bookings:
Everyone booking now will receive a stone to set and take home, chosen to suit beginner-level setting and the feel of the week.
Silversmithing: Next Steps (Intermediate/Advanced)
Monday 17th – Friday 21st August 2026

This course is ideal if you already have experience and want:
- More challenging projects
- Time to refine your skills
- Space to work on your own ideas with guidance
We’ll focus on:
- More advanced soldering
- Stone setting at a higher level
- Improving finish and precision
- Problem-solving and design development
This week is flexible and responsive — we’ll shape it around what you want to get out of it.
Bonus for summer bookings:
A stone suitable for intermediate/advanced setting, included so you can create a finished piece to take home.

- Stone setting (tube, flush or prong)
- Hinge making for lockets or articulated pieces
- Hollow construction (pods, beads, or containers)
- Professional finishing techniques

You’ll be working alongside a small group of like-minded people, with plenty of individual support throughout.
There’s no pressure, no rushing — just the time and space to properly learn.

I know committing to a course is a big decision, so payment in stages is available.
A deposit secures your place, with the remaining balance payable in instalments before the course begins.

FAQ
What will I make during the week?
You’ll make several silver jewellery pieces during the week while learning core techniques at the bench. Summer school students can also choose a stone from my collection (value up to £30) to set and take home, creating a finished piece that reflects their own style.
Do I need any jewellery making experience?
No. The beginner summer school is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have tried a short class before. The intermediate/advanced course is designed for people with existing experience who want to develop their skills further. If you’re unsure which course is right for you, I’m always happy to advise.
