Whether you’re a complete beginner or want to develop existing skills, I’ll give you clear demonstrations, individual guidance and plenty of time to practise at your own pace. You’ll learn techniques you can use again and again—not simply follow instructions to make one set project.

Five-Week Silversmithing Course
Build strong foundations and create jewellery of your own design.
Over five weekly sessions, you’ll learn the core techniques of traditional silversmithing, including sawing, soldering, forming, texturing and finishing.
Small class sizes mean you’ll have plenty of individual guidance while developing your skills and working at your own pace. Complete beginners are very welcome and returning students can take on more complex projects.
Silversmithing Summer Schools
Five full days. Thirty hours of making.
My summer schools offer an immersive week of practical silversmithing at my studio near Charlestown harbour.
Choose Essentials to build strong foundations or Next Steps to develop more advanced techniques and ambitious projects. You’ll have time to practise properly, solve problems and create several pieces while working in a small, supportive group.
Ideal for local makers or anyone planning a creative break in Cornwall.
Private Silversmithing Tuition
Focused teaching shaped around you.
Private tuition is ideal if you have a particular project, technique or challenge you’d like help with—or simply prefer learning one-to-one or with a small group of friends.
I’ll plan the day around your experience and goals, with clear demonstrations, practical guidance and plenty of time at the bench. Complete beginners and experienced makers are equally welcome.
Guided Bench Sessions
Independent studio time with experienced support nearby.
Guided bench sessions are for makers who already have some silversmithing experience and want time, tools and space to develop their own projects.
You’ll work independently at a fully equipped bench, with technical guidance available when you need help solving a problem or planning the next stage.
Lost Wax Jewellery Course
Create sculptural jewellery with wax modelling and casting.
Explore additive and subtractive wax techniques to create forms that would be difficult to make using sheet and wire alone.
You’ll design and refine your piece in wax before it is professionally cast in your chosen metal. Once cast, you’ll learn how to clean, finish and polish your jewellery by hand.
Suitable for curious beginners and experienced makers wanting to expand their design skills.
Mitsuro Hikime Jewellery Course
Discover a traditional Japanese wax technique with beautifully organic results.
You’ll warm, stretch and shape a specially prepared wax to create flowing lines and distinctive textures that are unique to Mitsuro Hikime.
Your finished design will be professionally cast in your chosen metal before you refine, finish and polish it by hand.
Ideal for beginners and experienced makers who enjoy texture, movement and sculptural forms.
Make your own wedding rings
Create something together that you’ll wear forever.
Spend a private day at my Charlestown studio making your wedding rings from start to finish.
After practising in copper, you’ll shape, solder and finish your final rings yourselves, with clear guidance throughout. Your rings can be made in silver, gold or platinum and will be professionally hallmarked before they are returned to you.
No previous jewellery-making experience is needed.
A Calm, Inclusive Studio
Everyone learns differently. Some people prefer to watch a demonstration slowly, some like written notes, some need repetition and others work best quietly with time to concentrate.
With 25 years of teaching experience, including supporting people with additional and neurodiverse needs, I adapt my guidance to suit the way you learn best.
My aim is for you to feel comfortable asking questions, enjoy the process and leave the studio feeling more capable and confident.
